The Nelson Mandela Nation

I am completely startled by the reaction of some people towards the predicament of our great hero Nelson Mandela. Since the time he fell ill in 2010 there have been gossips going around about him. As he gets sicker the gossips become more and more shocking. From how he became president and how we got freedom to bewildering reasons about his great grand-daughter Zenani and why she died. As a young South African specifically one born a month after his release, I was born during a great moment in time. I respect him highly, and I find offence in the speculations that people make. There is so much that we can do as a nation because of him, and I do not rule out other great heroes of the same stature. Such as Oliver Reginald Tambo or Chris Hani to name a few, they also formed a great part of the fight against apartheid and I respect them just as much.

Nevertheless, the talks of Nelson Mandela being an illuminati and how he is so highly worshipped is the work of the devil and this is mostly apparently seen in his famous 46664 prison number I find it to be nonsensical. Just to educate some people on where 46664 comes from ‘he was prisoner number 466, imprisoned in 1964’. It is a mere coincidence that the numbers 666 which are associated with the devil are part of his prison number. It has become ridiculous to read through Christian (who are not meant to judge) blogs and find something like this ‘Satanists reveal themselves at the 46664 Concert’, but the number is just a global symbol for his humanitarian causes, raising awareness about social issues such as poverty, hunger, education and HIV AIDS prevention. But for some people to view this as the work of the devil is ludicrous. Nelson Mandela should be associated with goodness. Yes! No human soul should be worshipped but who is worshipping him? I believe that he is owed gratitude and is granted gratitude. He has done his job and people still admire him because of what he has done. He is an icon because he is genuinely a great man.
Why can’t people view what he has done as something God granted? He spent so many years in prison and suffered so much for wanting freedom for everyone. I mean, I am able to write this because I have the freedom to express my views to anyone who will listen.

Nelson Mandela does not have anything to do with his grand-daughter’s death.   To read someone’s expressed views about how Zenani was a sacrifice so that Mandela can live longer is outrageous. To walk in a supermarket and listen in to other people’s conversations and hear them mention how it’s curious that so many people die around Nelson Mandela’s birthday and this is also a sacrifice to the devil is completely bizarre. A lot of people die every day, but I don’t see anyone comparing. When did we as a nation get to this point of gratifying people by associating the great things they have done with evil? I would not tell you why people like Lady Gaga, Jay Z, Beyonce or Kanye West make devil signs on their videos or act like they worship the devil. It might be a market strategy to just shake people up and get people talking or noticing I don’t know. But I know that Nelson Mandela did a great thing, his name and legacy shouldn’t be tarnished.

He did not sell blacks to the whites; anyone smart enough will know that as a country we are still going through the process of getting over apartheid and that will take time. Nelson Mandela is not an illuminati in the sense that some people make it out to be or its association with Satan. In fact, according to some research the illuminati are groups of people who fought against things like religion, they fought for women to get education, prejudice and superstition. If fighting against religion makes you a Satanist I guess a lot of people are Satanist. Anyway, Nelson Mandela like other great heroes of our country fought against something that was considered normal that is apartheid and if that makes them the Illuminati “the enlightened ones” then so be it. But then again we are all entitled to express ourselves and I have and will still continue to.
