Friends are Forever
I do not particularly find it easy to make friends. But I do have the greatest of friends and every time when I do not have a handle of life, or I am struggling with somethings, they always come to my rescue. My definition of friends is very simple. Friends are "People who are family but not your siblings". My sisters are my siblings by blood but are not my friends.My friends are my siblings by soul connection and unfortunately friends by default. I do not have that many friends. In fact I suck at being a friend just as I suck at being a girlfriend. However, the topic of today is strictly on friends. Today I am going to write about my three main friends Lebogang Malinga, Antoinette Mnguni, and Ntokozo Masinga. I dedicate this very piece to them just to tell them how much they mean to me.
Starting with my best friend of ten years Lebogang Malinga. Her friendship has been one of the most important things in my life. I do not know anyone else in this world who believes in me just as much as Lebogang does. From since we were in primary school she always fought to be the best and in turn she also taught me to want to be the best. People always say she brings out the calm, serene nature in me, because apparently I am the loud and wild one and she is the sweet and earthy one. I laugh because people are always mistaken. Lebo is the crazy one. The things she says just to make me smile at times I find them far too amazing. When I am in a tight situation she always assures me that she will kick whoever made me sad. And I believe her all the time. She is my pillar of strength and I will do absolutely anything for her, because she would do anything for me. She is my soul mate. It is just so unfortunate that we were born a day and a year apart, but I swear she is my better half.
Antoinette Mnguni... Every time I say that name I think "that must have been my name in my past life". Anto reminds me so much of myself. From the very first time I met her in High school I always viewed her as my baby sister. I always wanted to take care of her and nurture her to be great. Though, in the past years that I hadn't seen her, I am proud to say that she has turned out better than I had expected. She has groomed into an amazing young woman. Her friendship towards me is honest. She always goes through life always wanting to laugh and I find that truly wonderful, because I am the same too. I find any excuse to laugh because what is the use of being sad when all it does is waste your time. Antoinette is my happiness. I hope that she knows how much her friendship means to me and I will always be there for her, at any moment. Because she has been that for me.
Last but obviously not least in my life is Ntokozo Miss Tinkerbell. Been friends with her since 2009. It has been great having her in my life even though lately our schedules get in the way. But she has had a great impact on who I have become. She taught me the secret of how to have fun but still be book smart. Come to think about it, I must go to her so she can choose my new style for me because she is all about being pretty. She is my wild friend but I thank God for the man who toned her down a bit. I treasure her for just being a part of my life and reminding me of living. Every time when I mention friends, I never forget her. I just hope one day she will remember how much she means to me.
I have had friends all my life. And these aren't the only people who have been good to me. But I consider these three to be the best. They have had a great impact on who I am today. They inspire me. They make me happy. They are the friends I one day want my kids to know of. To hear stories from them. They are just the best of all my friends and I appreciate their parts in my life and I will never forget it. Thank you!
