Stop whining and just make sure you VOTE

The current state of South Africa is one that affects us all. Poverty, unemployment, and being the country in the world with the highest rate of the most infected people with HIV; all this affects us all. Crime against the defenseless is high, corruption by people we entitled our leaders is spiraling out of control, and the education system stinks. Now....  the question that should be on all our minds is, what am I doing to reduce the inequalities that our country is facing? It strikes me how as a country although we have been through a lot, we have only limited ourselves to whining. Yes! I said it `whining` .Oh! government is not doing this, oh Zuma used the states money to build a swimming pool, Zuma is not educated but he earns 260 million every year, etolls, Gupta's, police services, hospital services blah blah blah.

With such a long list of faults, you would expect people to do something about it but as always the conclusion has become `unfortunately I will not vote. I do not see South Africa getting out of this, we are stuck with Zuma`. Stuck? This can't be changed? No! We are only stuck with Zuma and the endless poverty and corruption only because we choose it. The voting system was not open to all as some strategy by government to make it seem like the people are in charge. The truth is, you are in charge. As a citizen in South Africa you are entitled to choose your own leaders. Not out of fear but out of logic.

We lost a great man... Nelson Mandela. He was a man of honour, and a courageous man. When he envisioned the future for South Africa before being president, he only thought `unity`. He realised that together we can strike any building block that stands in our way. Today we are facing poverty, 8 million children are living in poverty, children! Unemployment is at its peak. Even people with Degrees and Diplomas cannot get employment. Young children and our elders are being raped, jails are being filled, the country is just out of control.

It is shocking how even with this reality people turn away blindly or blame each other and reply with a `there is nothing I can do` but there is. Vote! I am not appealing on behalf of any party. I still do not know who I am going to vote for. But I am researching. Looking to see what has been done, what was promised and isn't still being promised.

Its no lie that there is high corruption in government, but they can't all be corrupt, right? Let's stand together as a country like we did in 1994. I know the statement I will make now will suck, but hell `vote as though you were oppressed`.

You want things to change? Vote! You think life is unfair in South Africa? Vote! You sick of the education system? Vote. I can go on and on and on...

My point is, if you have a problem with the way things are, stop whining and just go vote....
